Doctrines of Grace
There has been much ink spilled over the years regarding the issue of salvation and what the Bible says about it. The following files, mostly Word documents, are put here that you may read and understand what the Bible says about salvation. You will find articles and excerpts by some of the greatest Christians of history, such as John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, Charles Spurgeon, and what they believed the Bible says about salvation. It is wonderful to know on whose shoulders we stand, but equally wonderful to know who stands for those same truths today. That is why I will include the teachings of modern day Christain leaders, such as James White, John MacArthur, A. W. Pink, R. C. Sproul, John Reisinger, and others on what they agree salvation is.
There is a decided slant to this page primarily because there is so much misinformation in most Christian churches as to what biblical salvation really is. If you, like me, have wondered why one is saved and the other is not, why some "make decisions" for Christ only to fall miserably away from the faith, why others who call themselves Christians never come to church nor appear to have any good fruit on the vine, then this page may be a help for you.
God has set all things in order and has revealed them to His children through His Word. I encourage you to be a Berean and to strip away your preconceived notions about doctrine and let the Word speak for itself. Remember, God cannot lie, so His Word cannot be contradictory in any way. If you have been glossing over Scriptures that do not seem to fit into your theology, or avoid reading or teaching portions of the Word because they are "too controversial" or contradict your beliefs, then I implore you to read the works placed here. May God stir your soul to glorify Him in new and surprising ways!
